From the first words she speaks Antigone positions herself as above the age of ten due to the complexity of her language. With her respect of the lord, and acceptance while facing death, i believe she is more of a maturity than a teenage, though it was common knowledge that a teen was more middle age rather than our young now days.

I believe Antigone is round the ages of 19-22

Antigone seems to be between 17 - 20 to me. i believe this because she appears to have the ability to think through what is happening to her and her family and understand the consequence of the actions that she takes. This kind of foresight is not usually present in people who are yonger than 15 or 16. However the reckless and head strong attitude that Antigony presents suggests that she is not too old. It is because of the rebellious streak in her that i believe that she is a young adult.

Matt - I believe Antigone is approximately 16/17, which I have derived from her language, and undying devotion to her family. She exhibits the rebellious tendencies of a teenager by deciding to stare death in the face, and ignore the ramifications of her actions on people around her, rather than purely herself. Her disregard for personal safety is synonymous with youths around that age, and as such, this is why i see her as a teenager.

Charlotte here.

My answer: The way Antigone talks is quite mature and knowledgable, of what has happened to her brothers, including their grisly deaths and what is to become of their bodies. This understanding implies that she must be at least teenaged - but her plan is rebellious, and she doens't appear to have much regard for the consequnces of her actions. Her focus is not on mapping out her plan, but rather convincing her sister (Ismene) to assist her in executing it. This isn't the thought pattern of someone who is well into adulthood, which hints that Antigone would be in her late teens to early 20's. Ismene is more rational and sensible in relation to Antigone's plan, and thus appears to be older.

I beleive Antigone is about 16-20, because in those times they didnt hav a long life span, so that age is fairly grown-up. She seems very reckless, defiant and passionate, which would go with that age group. Also she seems to not think of consequnces, that nothing really bad could happen to her, seeing as how teenagers have always thought they were invincible.

Due to her mutinous behaviour I beleive that Antigone is a teenager, despite her sophisticated tone. Also, in her time people had a relatively short life expectancy, so I would say she is below the age of 15.

(It took me an hour to figure out how to post this)
