Hanging by a thread .....

No responses to the last Antigone question. Too hard? Or haven't you even been here to look? The idea of author's purpose and audience underpins every piece of reading that we do in English and Literature, yet it is the most difficult question for students to answer. The only time that many students have a clear sense of both, is when, in despair, they put pen to paper and write a poem or letter - to the one they love and who is unaware of it, the one(s) who rejected them, the one(s) who did them wrong, the world (when everything goes wrong.) How do we get you to move from thinking only of yourself, and your personal concerns, to viewing the world through the eyes of someone else?

Miss Bares, we're teenagers, it's incredibly rare that we would think of anyone other than ourselves. but i guess we need to learn how to. i have been having computer problems (as technology still seems to have a massive grudge against me) and have therefore not been able to comment on the blogs. i will, however, try my best to do so from now on.

oh and p.s, i keep forgetting my password and you'd think that i'd write it down, but no. so if the entries are spaced out over a couple of days, you know either my brain or technology has failed me.

That is a fact and not a reason, or an answer for the question posed. Your password? How about you write it on a post-it and post it next to where you usually work?

Miss, no-one puts "pen to paper" anymore, its the year 2007. And sorry for the late reply, i have no excuse but that i keep forgetting to check the site. I'll just make it my homepage from now on so i have to look at it.

Pen to paper, finger to keypad - what's the difference? I tried a blog instead of a piece of paper with questions on it. Look at the comments, or lack of..........
